NIONGOZE FELLOWSHIP
Class of 2021
The fellowship commenced with the first exciting colloquium that took place in the mountainous Lushoto district in Tanga. Having nine fellows from eight universities in the country, the colloquium was a success of its kind with a lot to digest.
Fellows had opportunities to take part in different occasions and programs that for sure brought them together. The programs are professionally prepared to help one discover the hidden true leadership potential, starting from self-determination, communication, collaboration, participation to professional leadership skills.
FIRST SEMINAR
The first colloquium was held in Lushoto district in Tanga, covering personal leadership training.
SECOND SEMINAR
The second colloquium was held online, covering leadership training at a group level.
THIRD SEMINAR
The third colloquium was held in Kigamboni, covering community leadership training.
GRADUATION
The graduation ceremony was held on Friday 26th August, 2022 in Dar es Salaam

MEET THE FELLOWS
Sabra is a medical student at Hubert Kairuki Memorial University and an outstanding leader. She has held several leadership positions at her university in Tanzania and is currently serving as the East African Students Union Vice President, an umbrella union that brings together national students’ organizations of the six East African member states.
She is enthusiastic about female and youth involvement in policy formulation and other decision making areas in accelerating growth and sustainable development across the region.
She is also passionate about female empowerment and plans to work with other stakeholders in innovating solutions to overcome the many barriers and issues that women face in taking up leadership roles in her country and across Africa. She also advocates for mental health and hopes to spearhead movements that will change the negative culture around mental health and influence people to seek for mental health services when needed.

She is passionate about children and gender equality issues but also engages in environmentalism and peace building activities. She is currently working as a Public relations officer at Nakua na Taifa Langu organization that aims to empower youths for development of the nation.In her free time Barbara likes to participate in dialogues on sustainable development goals but also writing articles and drafting programs for developmental community services for clubs she volunteers in, such as the United Nations club in her university, the Rotaract club of Dar city and as an intern in the International Model United Nations.
Her desire is to be an agent of change in the society and a community leader that will aid in realization and achievement of the sustainable development goals. She believes every day we have a chance to make the world a better place!

Bernadette Albert is currently the member of parliament of the Dar Es Salaam University Students’ organization (DARUSO). She strongly desires to see positive changes in her community and believes that technology is an essential tool in bringing such changes.
In accordance to that, Bernadette decided to pursue her degree in a technology related field by majoring in Computer Science at the university of Dar Es Salaam where she is still studying. She is currently working with the Afya Intelligence organization which makes use of technology to craft perfect healthcare experience in Africa and provide modern solutions to issues in the health sector.

Christina is a final year student at the Institute of Finance Management pursuing Bachelor degree in Economics and Finance. She is also a project manager in the health sector at the Fairmont Royal group of companies, and also a member of the International model United Nations internship program. During her advanced level education she was an active member of the PCCB club that empowers about fighting corruption and a treasurer and deputy secretary of the UKWATA student Christian religion association in her ordinary level education.
She performed her first field practical training at Shule Direct under the Finance and administration department then followed by another practical training at NMB private banking under Retail operations department. Christina is passionate about learning and exploring new ideas and opportunities so she can improve her potential and ability and be helpful to her community. Apart from the academic and leadership qualifications she is also an entrepreneur dealing with sales of accessories and fragrances through social media.
Christina is good at writing skills and a team player with excellent communication skills. She recently joined the Niongoze class training to improve her leadership skills so she can inspire and encourage the young female generation to explore and maximize their potential.

Furthermore Jenipher is a founder of Non-governmental organization which is called DETERMINED SOCIETY ORGANISATION (DSO) which is dedicated to the society creating a conducive environment for the society to achieve their dreams. Millennium loves to help out around the college and can often be found volunteering in various events. She is also an intern at Youth for Children Innovation Hub (Y4C) that is owned by UNICEF helping to find various IT related solutions to the Challenges brought. She first was elected as a member of parliament in the DARUSO government in her first year and now she is appointed as the ex-com of finance at the college of ICT.
Her devotion and passion to serve the community has made her engage in various activities that involve serving the community around her and her favorite part about being a leader is the people she gets to meet, the knowledge she gets and seeing all her hard work pay off in helping the community. The current existing division in leadership based on gender has cultivated her passion to work hard as a female to show that women can also lead.
In the future Millennium is planning to engage more with helping the community she lives in, since public and community services are essential responsibilities for leaders.

Nasra is an assistant program coordinator of Restless Development ISW Network, at the Institute of Social Work Dar es Salaam. Her passion is to be a Social worker to promote change and development in the community especially gender equality. At O’level she joined a club at her school and influenced her to also inspire others about what she learned from these school clubs.
Through the clubs, she became confident and willing to help others, by raising awareness on different problems within societies. In the lever of Diploma she joined at Youth Organization Program on the project to educate and influence youth in testing and care about their health on HIV/AIDs, but also at social work club on the celebration of social worker’s day provide services to the community such as counselling.
Her dream is to have her own organization which will focus on out reaching youth of 14 to 25 about career goals and to strive from challenges that hinder person development. She is now a Bachelor degree student third year and an assistant program coordinator.

Venosa is a medical student at MUHAS, Vice chairperson of Tanzania Fellowship of Evangelical students and active volunteer in different organizations. She is passionate about serving the community, she started volunteering in different organizations as a way of giving to the community. She was able to educate young girls and boys in secondary schools about reproductive health and she was able to reach more than 5 schools and orphanage centers in Dar es salaam. In 2019 to 2020 she served as a chairperson of Sexual and Reproductive Health in TAMSA MUHAS.
She is also passionate about leadership. In a group of people, she always finds herself a leader. She started being a leader in primary school. At high school she served in (UKWATA) as a chairperson. At university she wasn’t interested in leadership but once a leader always a leader. She found herself a leader in two consecutive terms.
In her extra time apart from volunteering and attending fellowship services at least thrice a week she also cooks, she enjoys cooking and is her best hobby. In future she wishes to become a successful obstetrician and gynecologist and a leader in a non-government organization where she will be able to use her skills to help women and young girls.
